Letter from a middle school student

Hi. This is Choi, Eun Young who's currently attending Shinkwan middle school. As school homework I had chance to research about sexual slavery with my friends. Before doing the research, sexual slavery didn't appear as serious problem to me. However, after taking a close look into the crime, I was so shocked and felt abashed about the fact that I wasn't fully aware of the problem before. Firstly, I want to ask those victims of the slavery a pardon. How harsh and miserable life was when you were forced to do such inhumane acts by Japanese soldiers? Deep hatred and anger filled my heart when I was looking at the pictures and testimonies related to the crime. Even though, I won't be able to fully understand your sorrow, I can little bit of imagine how irate and miserable you were to be taken away all your teenage memories. While reading the testimonies of victims, I was so angry that it was inexpressible. Also, I really appreciate those victims' bravery to reveal the sin of Japan. Japan must offer a official apology and adequate compensation toward the victims. Furthermore, I'm sure that there are still a lot of people out there in Korea who really don't know about the military slavery by Japan. I beg people for more interests about this crime. I, for my self, will try my best to clearly inform this inhumane act by Japan. I really hope that Japan will take their proper action as fast as they could, so those victims will release their burden before their death. Good luck for all of you and god bless you all.
